SEO Guide
for a Small Website

What OneBoot handles for you, what you can actually influence, and what nobody can promise.

You can't hand-edit meta tags on a OneBoot site — there is no editor and no settings screen for them. What you can do is give better answers, because the page title, the description and the page copy are written from them. Here is what is handled for you, and what is actually worth your attention.

1. What's already handled

Every site is published with a real page title and meta description, clean semantic HTML, and static pages served from a global network over HTTPS. None of it needs a plugin, a dashboard, or a setting you have to remember to switch on.

2. Describe your business in your customers' words

The title and description are written from your answers. "A coffee shop in Macau serving single-origin beans" produces a far better snippet than "a business". This is the single highest-leverage thing you control: be specific about what you do, where you are, and who it's for.

3. Name things the way people search for them

Use the plain name of your product, service or event. Nicknames, internal shorthand and clever brand names don't get typed into search boxes. If a customer would call it "piano lessons", don't call it "sonic journeys".

4. Ask for changes instead of hunting for a setting

If you want a section about something, say so in ordinary words — "add a section about private tuition" — and that part of the site is reworked. Free adjustments: once as a guest, five times when you're signed in. Additions driven by what customers actually ask you are usually worth more than keyword tinkering.

5. Images: describe what you want photographed

Ask for the images you actually need, described plainly — "photos of the window seats in daylight", "the workshop from above". A specific request gets a relevant image; "some nice photos" does not.

6. What nobody can promise

A position in search results. Anyone guaranteeing you the first spot is selling you something. What you can control is being readable, fast, specific, and honest about what you offer — and that is most of the work.
