Questions
Is OneBoot really free?
Yes. The free plan is the whole product at the moment: up to 2 sites, all three site types, a yourname.oneboot.io subdomain for each one, HTTPS with SSL, and free adjustments. No credit card and no trial countdown. We're in early access, so we'll tell users before anything about the free plan changes.
Is there a paid plan?
Not yet. We're testing a paid VIP tier with a small number of invited accounts, and there's no price to announce. VIP covers the same product with higher limits: up to 4 sites per account, and 10 adjustments per site instead of 5. The free plan stays free. How many websites can I create?
Up to 2 on the free plan, and up to 4 on the paid plan. Each site gets its own subdomain, and each one starts from a site type you choose. There's nothing to install, export, or host yourself.
Do I need coding skills to use OneBoot?
No coding, and no design work either. You answer ten questions — five for your site type, five shared — and either take a suggested answer or write your own. The layout, wording, colours, and images are put together from those answers. There's no canvas to arrange and no blocks to position.
What do I choose instead of a template?
A site type. There are three: product or service promotion, personal portfolio, and event registration. Your choice sets the five specific questions you're asked and shapes what the page leads with. You don't pick a design up front — the design comes out of your answers. If you want something different once it's live, ask for it in plain words.
How do the free adjustments work?
Every site comes with free adjustments: 1 if you built it as a guest, 5 once you're signed in, and 10 on the paid plan. Describe the change the way you'd say it out loud — "add photos to the drinks section", "make the colours warmer" — and that part of the site is reworked for you. The count is per site, and you can see how many you have left where you ask for the change.
Is the result a single page?
Yes. Every site is one page, read from top to bottom, published as static files. There are no sub-pages and no routing, so if you need a multi-page site, OneBoot isn't the right tool yet — and we'd rather say that now than let you find out after ten questions.
What if I want a change OneBoot can't do?
We tell you instead of pretending it worked, and suggest the closest thing that is possible. Some parts are fixed: the navigation bar and footer structure are locked, there are no multi-page sites, and there's no backend — so no form submissions, member logins, or payments. Sites are static, so they don't load outside embeds such as maps or videos, and the images are real photos from a stock library, which means we can't draw you a logo. Can I use my own domain?
Not yet. Every site is published to its own oneboot.io subdomain (e.g., yourname.oneboot.io) as soon as it's built. Custom domains are on the roadmap but not built, so we can't give a date. Email us if you want to be told when it ships.
Are OneBoot websites SEO-friendly?
The parts search engines read are handled for you: clean HTML, and a page title and description written from your answers. Pages are static and served from a global network, so they load quickly. Nobody can promise a position in search results, and we won't. Our SEO guide covers what you can do yourself.
What kind of support do you offer?
Email only. Write to [email protected] and a person replies — there's no chat window and no phone line. We're a small team in early access, so give us a little time to answer. The contact page has the details.
Is my data secure?
Every site is served over HTTPS with SSL, and it's a static page — there's no login or database behind it for a visitor to reach. Your answers and your account email are stored in our own database and we don't sell them. See our privacy policy for details.
